Jack is a born communicator and has always had a fierce drive to work with and help others within his community.

A genuine people person, he is passionate about ensuring the voices of the people of the Consett South Division are heard at a county level and that they, and those throughout the county, receive a fair deal from the Government and County Council.

In recent years, Jack has dedicated a great deal of time to the ongoing effort of keeping Shotley Bridge Hospital open.

Jack said: “As someone coping with health issues, I can appreciate how vital it is for the residents of Consett South and beyond to have somewhere local to go for healthcare rather than face lengthy journeys on public transport to University Hospital of North Durham or Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary of Freeman.”

A qualified engineer, Jack has worked in the telecommunications sector for many years. He has also worked in call centres, something that has helped him gain a great deal of experience in listening to people’s issues and working with them to help find solutions.

Consett South requires a strong voice to represent local people and deliver on community needs. New housing and shops bring great benefits, but they need to be spread around so The Grove and Moorside benefit as well as the town centre.

Jack’s local knowledge and passion for his community provides the first-hand experience required to not only address these needs, but also deliver positive change and investment across the division.

Vote for positive change in May, vote Jack Simons.
